Advice for clergy conducting weddings

The Church of England's Recovery Group has published details about the changes in advice for clergy conducting weddings.

Updates in this version reflect changes to legislation on the 14 October relating to permitted activities under the three-tier system. This has introduced a legal limit for those who gather for a wedding of 15 persons, which will include all those participating in the service including the minister, the musicians, and the choir.

Question 1 and 10 in the guidance document below have been changed to reflect the new legislation.

14 October: Updated Advice for clergy conducting weddings

Please use the Government’s postcode checker to find out which tier applies to you and the general description of the different tiers.

Additional guidance on the activities listed is available on the Church of England’s coronavirus webpage.
