Vision Cafe

A Vision Cafe is an inspiring drop-in event to share ideas in a fun, creative way. Everyone is invited to come along and take part at one of the events happening in different communities in our diocese.

At the Vision Cafe, we will ask people to consider questions such as:

  • What is the elephant in the room?
  • What would Jesus do?
  • Who do we need to reach?

We will use LEGO ®, message boards, fishing nets, washing lines, coloured pens, and letter writing to give people the opportunity to express themselves in a way that suits them. This is also a place people can have a chat and enjoy some free refreshments whilst someone captures their thoughts.

The events are open to all, regardless of whether they have a connection to the Church of England.

Casting the Net Wide Community Art Workshops

Wirral artist, Wendy Williams has been commissioned to make a thousand hand-crafted, three dimensional fish for a unique community art installation coming to Chester Cathedral in May. The artwork called, Casting the Net Wide will celebrate the launch of the new vision for the Diocese of Chester and the culmination of a twelve month consultation called, ‘Casting the Net Wide’.

Come along and learn how to make the fish to contribute to the piece. You can even take away some materials and make more at home if you like!  (The difficulty level of the workshop is not suitable for children.)
