Incumbent

Norley, Crowton and Kingsley

Applications are invited for this attractive, well-established rural benefice of three parishes in central Cheshire.

The total population is around 4500, and growing slowly.  The post is available on the basis of a house and 60% pensionable stipend of £15,622, with an expectation that the Vicar will offer Sunday duty plus four days a week.

The parishes nestle between the market town of Frodsham, and Delamere Forest.  Although rural, there are good road and rail connections.

The parishes are of open evangelical to central churchmanship, with a strong commitment to pastoral care and outreach, undergirded by a warm and friendly ethos.

There is a church school in each parish, and a commitment across the benefice to engage with children and younger families.  Average Sunday attendance is just over 100.

There is an excellent modern vicarage, and the church buildings are in good repair.

The parishes hope for a new Vicar who is/has:

- A clear vision and spiritual depth.

- Committed to rural ministry.

- Approachable and sensitive.

- Able to embrace a diversity of worship.

- Committed to pastoral care and outreach.

- Energetic, dynamic, with a good sense of humour.

As this is a part-time post, no formal closing date for applications has been set at this stage.  Those wishing to discuss the post further are invited to contact either the Bishop of Chester, the Rt Revd Dr Peter Forster (01244 350864 bpchester@chester.anglican.org), or James Barber (01928 787409 j.b.barber@talktalk.net).

Applications should be made to the Bishop of Chester, preferably using the application form below, or alternatively via Pathways.
