Incumbent, Hale and Ashley

The parishes of St Peter Hale and St Elizabeth, Ashley, on the edge of the Manchester conurbation, are seeking a dynamic, outgoing and energetic incumbent who will help them to grow in faith, in fellowship and in number.

The new incumbent will demonstrate central churchmanship while adopting a flexible and inclusive approach. He or she will have an inspirational and collaborative faith.

The parishes have excellent modernised buildings, and amenities.  There is a fine robed choir at St Peter’s, and there are many parochial organisations and activities.

Keys tasks are:

  • To encourage and nurture growth
  • To develop the many and varied gifts of the parishioners of all ages
  • To nurture and support the churches’ commitment to youth, young people and young families
  • To lead, support, encourage and manage the lay teams.

Full time stipend £25,526.

Applications should be submitted either to the Bishop of Chester (bpchester@chester.anglican.org) using this form, or, if preferred, via Pathways.  The closing date is Friday 25 January 2019, and interviews will be held in Hale on 6/7 February 2019.  The Patronage of the benefice is held by the Vicar of Bowdon, Revd Ian Rumsey.

Those wishing to discuss the vacancy informally are encouraged to contact either the parish representatives or the Bishop of Chester (01244 350864).
