Incumbent for Barnston and Pensby

Evangelical Ministry on the Wirral

We are seeking a mission-minded incumbent for this parish of evangelical tradition on the Wirral. This is a thriving parish with a population of 16,000 and an electoral roll of over 300. There are two churches: Christ Church Barnston, in the more rural setting of Barnston Village, and St Michael’s Pensby in a more heavily-populated suburban location.

We are looking for a new incumbent who will be:

  • a teacher: trusting in and enthusiastically preaching the authority of scripture in attractive and relevant ways
  • a shepherd: providing and developing pastoral care for all ages and reaching out with care and compassion to those in need of support
  • a spiritual leader: guided by the Holy Spirit, enthusing us to express our faith and stay focused on our mission both locally and internationally
  • an evangelist: leading a new outreach to our community and
  • someone who can identify, nurture and grow gifts in the church family at all levels

There is particular emphasis on equipping the whole people of God in daily discipleship, and a strong desire to reach younger generations in creative ways. The ministry team includes a full-time Associate Minister, several readers, parish administrator, children youth and family worker, discipleship coordinator and pastoral coordinator.

We would welcome applications from both female and male candidates.
