Policy & Practice Guidance, Parish Safeguarding Handbook, SCIE Audit

Children were welcome and safe in the company of Jesus, and children and people at risk should be safe in Christ's Church.
Here in the Diocese of Chester we are committed to encouraging an environment where all people, but especially those who may be at risk for any reason, are able to worship and follow their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.

The Parish Safeguarding Handbook has been removed for editing. An updated version will be uploaded to this page as soon as it is released.
This handbook brings into one place and summarises the safeguarding responsibilities for parishes outlined in the House of Bishops' Safeguarding Policies and Practice Guidance below. It has been designed to be easily consulted, provide quick answers and support the day to day work of parishes in relation to safeguarding.

A safeguarding audit of the Diocese was carried out in May 2016. Details can be found in the following documents. Social care institute for excellence (SCIE) Audit (May 2016), Diocesan Response, Response by Bishop of Chester
