Welcome to the Safeguarding pages of the Diocese of Chester Who We AreThe Diocesan Vulnerability and Safeguarding Officer is Pauline Butterfield. Pauline qualified in social work in the 1990s. She undertook further postgraduate studies in behavioural forensic psychology to gain accreditation in risk analysis of sexual offending. She has an extensive professional background in social care management and has spent the past eighteen years carrying out safeguarding within church denominations
Holiday CoverWhen the Diocesan Vulnerability and Safeguarding Officer is unavailable, please contact thirtyone:eight (previously known as CCPAS) on 0303 003 1111. The Diocese of Chester partners with thirtyone:eight to meet the safeguarding needs of the Diocese. The Diocesan Vulnerability and Safeguarding Officer provides advice to Bishops, Diocesan staff and parishes. However, the out of hours and holiday cover is provided by thirtyone:eight. The thirtyone:eight data sharing information in regard to GDPR requires us to notify you that thirtyone:eight is performing a service for the Diocese of Chester Safeguarding lead and that all information provided to thirtyone:eight will be disclosed to the Diocese of Chester as if provided direct to the Diocese of Chester Safeguarding Lead with consent to disclose assumed (on the basis that a direct caller to the Diocese of Chester would be consenting to disclose information to it). |
