White Ribbon Day 2014

undefinedThe Ven Ian Bishop, Archdeacon of Macclesfield, has pledged his support for the White Ribbon Campaign by posting a picture of himself on social media site Facebook. White Ribbon Day (Tuesday 25 November) is an international campaign, started by men, committed to ending violence against women and girls in this country and abroad.

While White Ribbon Day recognises that most men are not violent towards women, the campaign asks that all men pledge 'never to commit, condone or stay silent about violence against women'. Archdeacon Ian is pictured holding one of the pledges.

The cause attracted a lot of support from staff based at Church House, Daresbury, and across our parishes. The local aspects of the campaign were co-ordinated by Ruth Mock, our diocesan Family Life Officer.

If you haven’t already signed the pledge on the campaign’s website please visit www.whiteribboncampaign.co.uk to do so.

“You can also wear a white ribbon to show your support,” says Ruth.
