Weston church 175th anniversary

undefinedAll Saints, Weston, by Runcorn, celebrated 175 years of ministry to the parish on Sunday 13 September. There was a service at which Archdeacon Ian Bishop preached, followed by a barbecue and fun afternoon with games, bouncy castle and other family activities all offered free to the community.

Archdeacon Ian congratulated church members and said: “Weston is a great little village church with a terrific minister. It's humbling to look back and celebrate the service and prayers that have built the church, but I'm excited to look forward and think what can happen in the years to come.”

Vicar the Revd Michael  Leydon  joined in the fun. Our PICTURE shows him locked in the stocks with the parish organist throwing wet sponges at him. We suspect a few organists dream of such an opportunity!
