People come together to explore their calling

The weather might not have been so good at Foxhill on Saturday 26th January, but inside that was entirely forgotten as 60 people gathered for our annual vocation discernment event. Some were there to find out more with a view to working out whether God was calling them to a particular ministry, others to share their experiences.

Our new interim DDO Rev’d Lorraine Reed led a session in the chapel which looked at a number of ministries through a series of talks and interviews. Later on in the morning there were opportunities to take part in workshops to explore two ministries in particular detail. We looked at ordained, reader and pastoral worker ministries, the religious life, the Church Army and family and children’s work. We also learnt more about spiritual accompaniment which can be really helpful at a time of particularly seeking God’s will.

If you couldn’t be there but would like more information on any of the licensed ministries please ring 01928 718834 ext 237 or email ddo@chester.anglican.org in the first instance.
