NIsh Katona at Upton talk Feb 2014

undefined‘Sundays at Seven' – relaxed evenings of dialogue, culture and witness on the first Sunday of each month – continue at St Mary's church, Church Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 6JZ. On 2 February the guest will be Nisha Katona (pictured). The daughter of two Indian Brahmin doctors, she was raised a Hindu and her father was a Hindu priest.

When aged 15, NIsha became a Christian, much to the anger of her parents, which made her decision a very difficult and painful reality.

Nisha  will give a curry-cooking demonstration and talk about her life and faith at the event. Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm until 7pm, when Nisha’s talk and presentation will begin. She is married to the Hungarian Hungarian guitarist Zoltan Katona (one of the well-known Katona Twins). Zoltan will be playing at the start of the evening.

Nisha is a full-time barrister specialising in abuse cases. She was appointed trustee of National Museums Liverpool by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and made an Ambassador for Diversity in Public Appointments by the Cabinet Office.
