New Chaplain for Stepping Hill Hospital

A new Anglican Chaplain has been licensed to serve at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. Suzanne Quick, a reader based at Culcheth and Croft in Liverpool Diocese, has recently joined the chaplaincy team, caring for patients and staff. The picture shows Suzanne (left), with Bishop Libby and Emma Rogers, the Matron for Patient Experience, at the licensing service in the hospital chapel, where the chaplaincy team and volunteers from local churches joined to mark the beginning of Suzanne’s ministry.

Speaking after the service, Suzanne said, ‘It is a blessing and a privilege to take up the role and serve as Anglican Chaplain at Stepping Hill Hospital. I'm very happy to be joining the team of chaplains and volunteers to support the spiritual and religious needs of patients, visitors and staff.’ Michael Gilbertson, the Archdeacon of Chester, who was also present and who has responsibility for healthcare chaplains in the diocese, said ‘We are very pleased to support Suzanne, and to wish her well in her new ministry. Our hospital and hospice chaplains play a really important role in showing the love of Christ to patients and staff alike.

Please pray for Suzanne and for the work of Stepping Hill.’
