Everyday prayer in a pandemic

How have parishes adapted their prayer life during the pandemic?

Archdeacon Mike and Emily Allen, Church Buildings Missioner in the Diocese of Chester, reflect on this in the latest episode of the Chester Box podcast.

They hear from three parishes about the different ways they have shared prayer in 2020. Contributors include the curate from Holy Trinity, Chester, who walked the streets offering prayer and chocolate. She discusses how this opened up conversations she might not have otherwise had; the Revd Beth Glover, Eastham, explains why her parish will never be the same again after the pandemic after her visceral and honest prayers struck a chord with the community; and the Revd Dr Oliver Igwe, who arrived in Crewe this year with his wife and children from Nigeria, talks about live streaming prayer. Marta Jones, Churchwarden at St Andrew's, Crewe, explains why receiving prayer from a familiar face via Facebook has been a comfort.
