New beginnings for Church House staff

Church House will bid farewell to three members of staff at the end of this year.

Peter Bacon, who works at Church House in the Ministry Department will take early retirement and will finish mid-January. He says: "I'm looking forward to spending more time with my wife, who retired as a parish priest two years ago, and new grandson, and continuing with my wedding car hire business – so I may see you at weddings across the diocese!"

Sandra Reynolds is leaving after working for the Diocesan Board of Education as a Schools Administrative Assistant for 14 years. She says she has plans for other things: "I will finish writing my children’s book, continue to learn Italian, spend more time with family and friends, continue cycling and walking, and may look into adopting a hedgehog from a sanctuary when they can no longer be released into the wild."

Emily Allen has been supporting parishes as a Church Buildings Adviser and will be leaving Church House at the end of December. Emily spent the summer contemplating God's call. She says: "I'll be leaving to explore a vocational calling. Whilst still an emerging picture, the calling will be around Christian communities, prayer, retreats and healing ministry, and God’s continued heart for Israel."

Peter, Sandra, and Emily follow in the footsteps of other staff who have left Church House roles this year, including Christopher Burkett and David Herbert.

If you wish to contact Emily, Sandra, or Peter to wish them well, please do.
