Harvest of Hygiene focuses on personal products

St Saviour’s Church, Stockport, has held a harvest festival with a difference. Rather than collecting food, the church decided to focus their collection on hygiene products.

The Revd Canon Diane Cookson said: “I was quite distressed to learn that so many people in this country are suffering financially and can not afford basic hygiene products. That’s why this year we decided to hold a harvest service with a difference."

The church has partnered with three local charities: The Wellspring, Stockport Food Bank, and the Stockport Women’s Refuge.

The Revd Diane adds: “All three organisations have been absolutely overwhelmed by the amazing response and were delighted to receive so many wonderful and very practical gifts.”

The congregation were fully behind the initiative and generously donated to the collection.
