Visitation Services 2021

Archdeacons' Visitation services 2021

To all Incumbents, Priests in Charge, Rural Deans and Churchwardens

Due to the ongoing pandemic, once again, we are not in a position to hold our normal Archdeacon Visitation Services to swear Churchwardens into post this year. This is very regrettable as we do enjoy welcoming Churchwardens into their role in person.

This year Bishop Mark, has given dispensation that Incumbents, Priests in Charge and Rural Deans for parishes in vacancy can swear their own Churchwardens into office. The suggestion is that this can happen immediately following their election at the APCM. In the case of parishes in vacancy, arrangements will need to be made with the relevant Rural Dean.

A Certificate of Election MUST be completed, printed, signed by Churchwarden and the officer who has sworn them into post and then posted to Pat Pugh c/o 57a Sandbach Road, Congleton CW12 4LH. This completes the legal process.

All Churchwardens MUST be sworn into post by no later than Tuesday 31 August 2021 and the form MUST be received by Friday 10 September 2021.

We would like to invite you to join us for an on-line “Welcome” service on Tuesday 29 June 7pm. Bishop Mark is taking this opportunity to be with you and will be preaching . We hope that you will take the opportunity to join us, the link will be publicized nearer the time.

There will be Churchwarden training opportunities later in the year when we hope to meet you in person.

New Churchwarden Training – Tuesday 20 July 7pm – Church House, Daresbury

All Churchwardens Training – Saturday 2 October 9.30am – St John’s Church Hall, Lostock Gralam.
