Open Doors- opening your church building for visitors

Venue: Norton Priory Museum & Gardens, Tudor Road, Manor Park, Runcorn, Cheshire WA7 1SX

A one day workshop exploring the practicalities and opportunities of creating a better welcome and interpreting your church heritage for visitors.

The day will include exploring such topics as why a church may consider opening its doors to visitors, identifying great stories to tell, security and risk management, different interpretive approaches and promotion.

There will be an opportunity to explore Norton Priory Museum (for free), which undertook a major redevelopment in 2016.

The day will be delivered by Emily Allen, Church Buildings Development Officer at the Diocese of Chester, with presentations by Kevin Thomas from Ecclesiastical Insurance and two case studies from churches in the Diocese.

This is a free event. Refreshments are provided, but please bring your own lunch or purchase from the museum café.
