T S Eliot's Four Quartets - A Study Day

Date and Time :
7th May 2022 - 9:30am - 4:30pm
Four Quartets is one of the greatest of all religious poems and has been described as ‘the culminating manifestation of T S Eliot’s genius’. This day will offer an opportunity to explore the work’s themes and its distinctive, sometimes elusive, ‘music’. The day will be divided into four parts, corresponding to the different ‘Quartets’. We will aim to work our way steadily through the poem together, reading out where appropriate and discussing as we go. It will be essential to have with you a copy of Four Quartets (second-hand copies are available cheaply on the internet if you haven’t one already), and to have read the poem in advance. There’s a note below for those approaching the poem for the first time. There will be breaks for coffee and lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided, but you might like to bring a packed lunch. Places need to be reserved in advance: to do so please contact St Mary’s Church Office, 01270 625268 / office@stmarysnantwich.org.uk
