A weekend of madness for young people in school years 7 to 11 and their leaders |
|
|
What Happens? The weekend is a mix of teaching, worship and fun for the young people, also there is training for the leaders during some of the sessions of the weekend. Each year we try and find something different (a speaker, material etc.) for the main sessions as well as offering an attraction (band, drama group etc.) that parishes might not be able to facilitate for themselves. We also offer material before and after the event to help you integrate the weekend away into your normal youth group. This Years Quinta Weekend At Quinta Weekend 2008 we invite you and your youth group to explore the original 3 in 1, Father Spirit, Son. We will be exploring the theme of the Trinity looking at God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit, taking a look at a different aspect each day. This will include various fun activities and some old favourites too. New for Quinta 2008 The older young people’s stream is developing again this year, and there is a new and improved leader stream throughout the weekend. There will also be a new and improved information pack on booking, including all the information you need to integrate Quinta weekend into your weekly programme. We will be keeping some of the old favourites that regular attendees will be familiar with and adding some new twists to the weekend. During some of the workshop and late-night sessions there will be opportunity for leaders who come with their group to spend some time discussing issues and being trained by experienced youth workers. How much will this cost? There are two options for accommodation at Quinta and depending on which one you pick decides the cost. (Both these options do not include travel to Quinta) Option 1: The Main Block £55 This is by far the nicest and easiest way to take your group to Quinta. This option includes 2 nights accommodation in the main Quinta block and all meals. The sleeping arrangements are in comfortable shared dorm rooms for both leaders and young people, there are full washing facilities (inc showers etc) and it is only a few steps from the main sessions and workshops. Young people will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows. Option 2: Camping £27.50 This option is for those groups who like to be in the open air. It includes a place to pitch your tent or park your caravan and includes use of the facilities in the main building, a bbq meal on the Saturday as well as a cooked meal on Sunday lunch time. Please note this option does not include meals during the rest of the weekend. So you will have to bring all cooking equipment and food. You will also have to walk a couple of minutes to the main sessions. How do I book? If you have young people wanting to come to Quinta please fill in the booking form and return it no later than 18 April 2008 to Chester Diocesan Board of Finance. with a non-refundable £20 deposit per person. Please make cheques payable to Chester Diocesan Board of Finance. Last year Quinta Weekend was full and their were groups disappointed about not being able to attend, we urge you that booking early is essential.
