4-6 June 2005

This year around one hundred young people and adults arrived at Quinta weekend to expect the unexpected. The theme looking at how the early church started, picked up passages from the acts of the apostles.

The event started with all the madness of a water filled wide game before giving the weekend to God in worship and an introduction to the theme, through story telling.

The late night café roared into action on Friday night with various vegetable themed games and the introduction of the Muesli Muse (you had to be there to understand).

Saturday took off with various activities that included forum theatre, crafts, sports and worship with the latter part of the afternoon being spent recovering from the earlier activities before joining together for a camp fire and the legendary late night café.

The weekend finished with the final part of our theme with the young people being challenged to go and spread the Gospel across their area.

Quinta weekend is the annual diocesan youth weekend for groups of young people and their leaders. It combines training for youth leaders and fun packed activities for young people. Every year the weekend follows a Christian theme.

The planning team is made up of leaders and young people from across the Diocese and we are currently looking for people to join the team in helping plan Quinta weekend 2006. If you or any of your young people are interested in joining the team get in touch with Mark Montgomery.
