Youth Worker - Chester

With 20+ young people as part of the church, a council sponsored youth club and great connections with the CoE High School in the parish, St. Luke's, Vicars Cross, Boughton and Huntington PCC wish to build on the exciting work to date.

The Youth Worker will lead ministry to young people from Year 7 to Year 13 across the parish.  It will require attendance at Sunday morning services and will initially include: open youth groups, youth discipling, schools work and working with other churches across the city to deliver weeks/ weekends away, youth services and special events.  There is an expectation that, with the agreement of the PCC, the Youth Worker will develop the role to suit both themselves and the young people. Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of and commitment to youth work in community, school and church contexts; they must have experience communicating well with and organising volunteers; and, they must be able to show theological literacy in the open evangelical tradition.  There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian with sympathy towards the ethos of the church.  DBS required.
