Artist's Work: Jo Whittall

Hi, my name is Jo Whittall and I worship at Christ Church, Barnton. I would like to share with you some of the craft things I have been doing this year.

I have been crafting since childhood and dabble in lots of different crafts. I have taught and given demonstrations in paper crafting and doll house miniatures here and abroad. Currently I have a craft group at home, I enjoy giving talks to church groups and being involved in children’s craft activities.

I like to try and express my faith in creative ways. Faith art journaling enables me to explore scripture, sermons, feelings and situations by using prayer, reflection and creativity.  There is no need to be an artist to do it! Using a variety of mediums from paint and ink to cutting and sticking pictures - anything goes - there is no right or wrong!

This page was inspired by a quiet day at Foxhill, the theme was “Living Thankfully”.

I’ve also been busy card making. I am training as a Pastoral Worker and part of my Parish Project is to develop some cards to be used in bereavement ministry. I am fortunate to have a large collection of Christian rubber stamps and have been exploring different designs.

This year the theme for our Lent groups was the Fruit of the Spirit I created this canvas using paint, stencils and wirework.

I have also been attending stained glass cases at Mid Cheshire College, Hartford and enjoying the challenge of trying something new.

I am always happy to share with others.
