Sports events from around the Diocese.
Do you think your youth group can take on the rest of the Diocese? The annual sports/football competition has roots back to the 1970s. It gives mixed teams of young people from parishes across the diocese the opportunity to take on each other and to try and take the title of top team for the year.
Are you are looking for a fun, lively and healthy day out to take your youth group to? Then this is the opportunity for your group to show off their footballing skills and challenge other groups from across the Diocese. This is a fun competition for groups of all abilities. All football matches are played on traditional astro pitches therefore there is no need for boots of studs.
2012 event postponed - The 2012 sports event has been postponed.
The youth office has decided to take a period of reflection to review and re-focus the event as we seek to discern the place that sports fits within the youth events calendar and Gods mission at the present time.
This has not been an easy decision and we understand that this might bring some disappointment to parishes and young people a like, and would like you to understand that this is not the end of the event, just a re-focusing of it.
We will be doing a '360 degree' review of the event over the coming months, and welcome any feedback from participants past and present and also youth leaders who would like to offer comments.
