On-line course for governors
A module specifically for governors of church schools has been developed by officers from DBE Services. The module entitled 'Governance of a church school' is available for all governors whose schools subscribe to Modern Governor and to all schools that are members of the Family of Schools regardless of whether their school subscribes to Modern Governor.
To access the module
- Go to www.moderngovernor.com
- On the blue login box, click on ‘create new account’ and follow the on-screen instructions. When you are asked to choose your LA click on the box and scroll down and choose the ‘Diocese of Chester’
- The system will send you an automated email – click on the embedded link to confirm
- Enter your username and password in the boxes provided and click ‘log in’.
Regular Training
The Diocese provides a rolling two-year programme for governor training. A number of courses are repeated twice using different venues.
