Portraying Jesus at the Walker Art GalleryDate: 27 January 2010 Venue: Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool Time: 1pm -3pm Cost: Free Leader: Sue Glover (RE Adviser) This session looks at the life of Christ through the eyes of artists. Paintings provide inspirational and reflective stimuli and suggested activities take a cross curricular approach. The afternoon will be aimed at RE Subject Leaders and those primary school teachers interested in exploring the use of art to teach RE. An introduction to a new resource for using the paintings will be looked at, which includes a child’s journal, teacher’s notes and a resource bag. LEAVERS' SERVICES 2010 Chester Cathedral – 11 am Tuesday 13 July 2010Astbury St Mary's Church, near Congleton – 11 am Wednesday 14 July 2010 An opportunity for children to celebrate their time in a Church school in the Diocese. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to gather together with hundreds of others in the Church school family to give thanks to God for their time in primary school and look forward to moving into high school. This year we will have Mark Townsend, a clergyman who is also a magician! Participating schools receive a CD with the music that will be sung to ensure everyone knows the tune. New Headteachers are supported in their ministry in schools by the Diocesan Team. The support is aimed at giving them practical help across a range of issues within a Church school setting, including the local Parish. This induction will take the form of six meetings, one per half term, and new headteachers are strongly encouraged to attend them.
