A brief explanation of the function of the Board of Finance
The Board of Finance acts like a post box. Money is collected from the parishes and used in support of parish mission and ministry.
What does the diocese pay for?
Mainly paying housing and training parish clergy a much smaller amount on support for parishes and a contribution to the National Church.
How does the Diocese fund this?
Most of the Diocesan Board of Finance's income is given by the 270+ parishes in Chester Diocese, through a system known as the parish share.
