A chance to find out more about Anglicanism’s Marian spirituality traditions

A TALK and discussion on the subject of the shrine at Walsingham in Norflok, followed by a Eucharist, will be held at St Andrew’s Church, West Kirby, on Saturday 12 May.

The main speaker will be Betty Jarrett, a Guardian of the Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.

Mrs Jarrett will talk on the importance of pilgrimage to Christian life, the role of the shrine within the Anglican Communion, and the work of the Guardians.

The meeting is sponsored by Forward in Faith, Chester, and will be held in the church hall, next to the church in Graham Road, West Kirby. The meeting will start at 10.30am. Refreshments will be served and at 12 midday those attending will move across to the church for a Eucharist.

After a break for lunch, people will then split up into smaller groups for meetings themed on Marian spirituality, saying of the rosary, stations of the cross and a discussion of the use of holy water from the well at Walsingham for use in blessings.

The day concludes with evening prayer, a procession with the image of Our Lady of Walsingham and benediction.
