Signing God's word for deaf people
PEOPLE who are interested in signing for deaf people in church may wish to attend the annual deaf chaplaincy training weekend at the Retreat House, Abbey Square, Chester from 17 to 19 June. The weekend is suitable for all levels from beginners upwards and is focused on interpreting Bible stories and the liturgy. The weekend is organised by Gail Robinson, the Diocesan lay chaplain for deaf and disabled people. The cost for this event is £75. Help with problems in personal Christian growth
A PASTORAL prayer ministry training day for Church members will take place on Sat 18 Jun, starting at 9.15am (for registration), at St Mark’s, Bredbury and Woodley. Leading the day will be Mary Pytches and fellow trainer Prue Bedwell (pictured). Mary has many years experience of pastoral counselling, and a particular interest in helping people to resolve problems that have hindered Christian growth. She is married to David Pytches, former vicar of St Andrew’s Church, Chorleywood, and founder of the New Wine conferences. The cost is £12 per person. Drinks are provided.
