A time for compassion and decency....

THE Bishop of Chester has expressed his sorrow at the terror strike on London. The Rt Revd Dr Peter Forster, who was in London at the time of the bomb blasts, also offered sympathy and prayers to those who lost loved ones. And Bishop Peter called for “decency and compassion” instead of tension and strife as a response to the terror outrage.

He said: “This is a time for faith communities and all people of goodwill to stand together in defiance of violence and terror. Christians must show solidarity with our peace-loving Muslim neighbours at this time. Together, all the faiths teach that human life is a precious gift from God and that violence must not be allowed to maim and kill the innocent. People of all faiths and none should now unite in a spirit of decency, compassion and tolerance.”
