Zipware fundraiser Tattenhall 2015

undefinedThe Revd Lameck Mutete and Churchwarden Georgina Blackhurst went to Bangor in Wales and rode what's claimed to be the fastest zip wire in the world recently. Although the experience was "out of our comfort zones", says Lameck, they went through it together to raise funds for an important project the completion of the community room and toilets project at their parish, St Alban's, Tattenhall.

Rector Lameck said: “We now know that the building project will be completed. Hurrah! Our target for fundraising is £300,000.  We’ve managed to raise three quarters of that amount – thanks to the zipwire adventure, and the generosity of parishioners and local people with their time and money.

The zipwire ride raised more than £12,000. If anyone can help with more donations to reach the target, please do contact Lameck on 01829 770245 or email

The community room and toilets will be used by the parish foodbank, Messy Church, Sunday School and groups for senior citizens and young people.
