Christmas Card competition

undefinedPrashanti Guruprasad, a 10-year-old pupil of The Firs School in Chester, designed the beautiful nativity scene which won the competition for this Christmas card sent out by our bishops and archdeacons. Some 20 people (including children and staff from the Christian school) attended a prize giving event and tea party at Bishop's House in Chester.

Pupils from the school’s junior department were invited by Elisabeth Forster (Bishop Peter’s wife) to submit designs for this year’s greeting card.

Elisabeth said: “Prashanti's nativity is beautifully composed, dynamic, colourful and contemporary. I love the light radiating from the smiling baby Jesus whose mother's hand rests lovingly upon him. The surrounding animals and people are eagerly and joyfully drawn to Jesus. Prashanti reminds us of the spiritual sensitivity of children!”
