Revd Watts 50th anniversary

The Revd Rob Watts and his wife Marian (pictured) recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with members of the congregation at St Luke's, Huntington, Chester. Having married in Leeds in 1962, Rob was ordained in the late-1980s, before serving God at Partington, and later, Tintwistle.

Marian eventually also appeared in the pulpit, having trained as a Reader, despite being partially-sighted.

Rob had previously been a teacher in Chester, and upon retirement, returned to the city. It wasn't long before the couple were assisting former Huntington Vicar Ian Hutchings. And with the church in interregnum since spring, Rob and Marian are presently leading services.

Parish placement worker John Cheek said: “The congregation showered the couple with love, as well as cards and presents, to show their appreciation for all that they continue to do for so many people in Huntington and across Chester.”
