Walk of Affirmation ART PROJECT blacon 2015

undefinedA big art installation called ‘The Walk of Affirmation' is now open to be experienced by the public at Holy Trinity church in Blacon, Chester. The artwork (PICTURED) consists of brightly coloured material floating downwards to the floor for the entire length of the north aisle.

Throughout the structure hang many messages about how people feel valued – and how loved they are by God.

Rector the Revd Tina Upton said: “People who have experienced The Walk of Affirmation love it. It helps people who have no faith to understand God’s love for them.”

‘The installation has been put together by The Light Project, a Chester-based faith-building organisation led by Glyn Jones (which works with students at the University of Chester as well as with local communities), and local artist Richard Coan.

The Walk of Affirmation will be displayed at other venues around Chester in the near future. It came first to Holy Trinity, because the values expressed in words on the artwork were inspired by interviews carried out among the people of Blacon.

To experience this artwork just visit Holy Trinity during opening hours: Mondays, 9am to 1pm; Thursdays, 1.30pm to 3pm; and Sunday mornings.
