Train to teach listening skills to children

A training day has been organised for people who'd like to lead a new ten session course for primary school children, aimed at teaching them to listen to themselves, to others and to God. The training for potential leaders the 'Zip Up Listen Up' course will be held at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bramhall, near Stockport on Saturday 8 September from 10am to 5pm.

The training is being supplied by Acorn Christian Healing Foundation, and is one of three national launches for this method.

Our diocese has been using Acorn listening courses as part of its training modules for many years (e.g. for Pastoral Workers), and many parishes have also had courses.

More than 1,000 people across the diocese will have completed the basic four-session course required as a preliminary for this special training to use the schools' material.

‘Zip Up Listen Up’ trainers help deliver the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning required of schools.

The cost of the training day is £20. It’s open to anyone who has done the Listening for Life training. For further details email Barbara Oakley
