Bishop Ande of Aru

undefinedBishop Ande (PICTURED) of Aru Diocese in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will visit our diocese over the weekends of 20 to 21 February and 27 to 28 February.

The bishop is currently in Cambridge on sabbatical leave, and so has taken the opportunity to head north to talk with friends in our diocese, which is linked with his.

There will be two opportunities to greet Bishop Ande during his visits ...

At Mellor (in the north-east of our diocese) on Sunday 21 February Bishop Ande will preach at the 10am service at St Thomas' church in the village. Then from 11.30am to 1.30pm coffee will be served in the parish centre where there will be opportunities to talk with him. The parish centre can be found just below the church in Church Road, Mellor, SK6 5LX.

Bishop Ande will also attend an ‘Open House’ event at Bishop’s Lodge, Prenton, near Birkenhead from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 27 February. Please let Bishop Keith know by email if you would like to attend

If you are able to call in at the Open House, then it would be useful to have some indication of timings, and how many people might be coming.

The Anglican Dioceses of Aru and Boga in the Democratic Republic of Congo are formally linked to the Diocese of Chester.

The aim of the Chester Congo Link is to be one church in different places. Those involved pray for one another regularly – and encourage positive and active participation by parish links.
