undefinedThe Revd Steve Clapham has been licensed by Bishop Libby as Priest-in-Charge of All Saints, Church Lawton, near Alsager and as our Diocesan Ecumenical Officer. He's available to support ecumenical initiatives across our diocese and to advise parishes who are considering working across denominational borders. He will combine his duties with leading the parish of Church Lawton.

Steve, a former software engineer who developed an interest in  ecumenical work when he lived in Liverpool in the 1980s, has been in parish ministry in Crewe, at All Saints' and St Peter’s churches for the past nine years. He was chair of Churches Together in Crewe.

Married with four grown-up children, Steve was ordained priest in our diocese in 2005. He is pictured above, enjoying cakes at the welcome event put on by his new parishioners in Church Lawton, where he was licensed in his new ministry on 5 November.

He said: “To really accomplish the mission God has given us as Christians, we truly need each other, including our differences. We should work together to reach out and help our local communities."

Anyone who has a good story or an enquiry about working together with other local church communities, please let Steve Clapham know. Phone him on  01270 876604 or 07891 219048, write to him c/o Alphabet House, Liverpool Road West, Church Lawton, Cheshire, ST7 3DZ  or email steveclapham@outlook.com

Steve takes up the ecumenical work previously done by the Revd Canon Mike Lowe, who has retired.
