St Michael Newton 50th 2015

undefinedSt Michael's church at Devon Road in Newton celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a photographic exhibition in the hall, and a community hog roast. On Saturday 17 October there was a Golden Tea Party , plus a visit from the Deo Gratias Choir which brilliantly caught the mood of celebration and enjoyment.

On Sunday 18 October there were two well-attended services, when the visiting preachers were the Revd Andy Bull (who had grown up in St Michaels) and the Revd Ian Hobbs (a former Curate in Charge in the 1980s).

Margaret Barker cut the jubilee cake with the current Vicar, the Revd Rob Peters.

Two booklets were published for the Jubilee.  Fifty Golden Years: The story of St Michael’s Church in Newton, Chester (by David Blackmore) and a 50th Anniversary Photo Directory.  Copies of these may be bought via the church office. Phone 01244 315129.
