Sponsored abseil at church in Northwich March 2014

undefinedA group of parishioners are to abseil down the outside of the 100-ft tower of St Helen's church, Witton, Northwich, on Saturday 1 March. The feat is being jointly organised by Christian Aid and the parish. The Vicar, Alison Harris, and the local church, have been long-term supporters of Christian Aid.

Those taking part will be sponsored to raise funds for the charity.

As well as those abseiling and those sponsoring, the Vicar hopes many will turn up on the day, from 10am, to watch the event.

Apart from the spectacle of the abseiling there will also be opportunities to find out more about the work Christian Aid around the world – including projects to combat climate change, tax dodging, the causes of poverty, and the causes of disease.

If you want to participate in the abseiling visit www.christianaid.org.uk/abseil or email rturner@christian-aid.org or phone 01925 582826.
