Runcorn Lifge in Flint 2014

undefinedLast Saturday the Saturday before Pentecost more than 50 people attended a Holy Spirit day that grew out of the Runcorn Life mission project.

The day was held at Flint Community Church and was part of the ten-week Alpha course designed to help those who expressed wishes during the big Runcorn Life events last March to know more about the Christian faith.

The Flint day included worship, prayer, teaching about the Holy Spirit, small group sessions and a chance to visit Flint Castle over the lunch hour.

The Runcorn Life Alpha course began just after Easter and was designed so that the day exploring the Holy Spirit could be held on the Pentecost weekend. The course has been led by church ministers from across the town. Those on the course have enjoyed a meal together every Sunday evening, giving plenty of opportunities for people to get to know each other and share their hopes and anxieties.

The Revd Richard Burton, Parish Development Officer for the Diocese of Chester, said: “This response to the mission has encouraged all the churches of the town. Runcorn Life was a big step of faith for the churches to take and people can now see fruit from their prayer and hard work.”
