Richard Scott skydive update

undefinedPictured is Richard Scott of St Thomas' church, Stockport, doing his fundraising sky-dive for The Christie hospital, where he's being treated for cancer. Richard, 60, was diagnosed with kidney cancer some five years ago. The kidney was removed but the cancer had spread. He then underwent specialist immunotherapy treatment, which led to a stalling of his illness ...

The married father of two grown-up sons, who is a  a long-serving Director of Music at St Thomas’, is currently able to live a very full, normal life.

The medical treatment Richard has received was expensive to develop and is costly to administer. It was made possible partly by money raised by previous fundraisers.

That’s why he went on the sponsored skydive last month (September 6). It was a tandem jump, made with an experienced skydiver. Richard is the lower figure in the photo. He says he really enjoyed the jump and is very pleased that it has raised (to date and still rising, including gift aid) well over £3,000.
