reciope book for spire repairs - Tranmere 2014

RSS

undefinedParishioners at St Paul with St Luke in Tranmere, Wirral, have produced a fund-raising recipe book to help finance repair work on the church's landmark spire. Problems with the spire's stonework were discovered during the routine five-yearly building inspection in 2013.

Work has been carried out to make it safe, but fixing the problems completely could cost £100,000 or more.

To boost fund-raising, members of the congregation are publishing a book of favourite recipes. These include favourites old and new, known and unknown, and include contributions from Church members, friends, family, local councillors and an MP, as well as the Bishop of Chester’s favourite, Danish Frikadeller – fried meat balls.

Parishioners are waiting to see how Vicar Keith Addenbrooke tackles the tempting treats within, following his success last year in raising over £300 for the church on a sponsored diet.

The book costs £5 (plus postage & packing for those not living locally). Please phone Vicar Keith on 0151 645 4258 if you would like to buy one. Or email k.addenbrooke32@btinternet.com  Or call at the Vicarage, 306, Old Chester Road, Rock Ferry, Wirral, CH42 3XD.
