Poppy cascade 2014

RSS

undefinedThis cascade is the culmination of a project about remembrance carried out by members of St Michael and all Angels church, Bramhall, a couple of miles south of Stockport. The parish's schools co-ordinator, Jill Elston (along with many volunteers) engaged with playgroups, uniformed organisations and schools to encourage children to make poppies and discuss the First World War.

In some cases those taking part made food using the same rations allowed during the war.

The artistic element was driven by Tricia Daniels who is a member of the parish arts and crafts group. Tricia painstakingly assembled the cascade, which hangs in the tower at St Michael and All Angels.
