New chaplain at East Cheshire Hospice 2012

undefinedThe Revd Norman Jones was licensed recently as the new chaplain to East Cheshire Hospice. The Bishop of Chester, who is President of the Board of Trustees, licensed Norman and spoke from the Beatitudes about the importance to God of those who are weaker and struggling in life.

Bishop Peter also spoke about the immense work done by the hospice movement in this country to care for people at their weakest point.

Norman will now work alongside a team of volunteer chaplains from the local community with the aim of providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families.

There is a chapel available for quiet reflection and prayers at the hospice, and communion is offered on a one-to-one basis.

The chaplains are available to anyone needing support – those of a particular faith or none.

Norman was welcomed to his new role by a number of people, including Tracey O’Keefe, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Helen Knight, Head of Clinical Services, who are both in the picture above.
