MU fun day at cathedral July 2014


undefinedThe Mothers' Union (Diocese of Chester) will be having a Family Fun Day on Saturday 12 July (2014) from 11.30am to 3.30pm at Chester Cathedral. Visitors will be invited to join in the Cathedral Service of Worship after the event.

Families are encouraged to come along and join in various fun and games provided inside and (weather permitting) outside in the cathedral gardens.

Twelve deaneries from the Diocese of Chester, have organised a variety of games and activities. The fun events include: Bracelet Making ... Name the Teddy ... Bran Tub ... Tombola .... Hoopla ... and Hook a Duck..

Each deanery will also have a display explaining the work and campaigns of the MU. These include: ‘Away from it All’ which provides holidays by the sea for local families; the ‘Virtual Baby Project’ which encourages responsible parenting; and ‘Fiddle Pinnies’, a scheme to assist people with dementia.

Admission is free but visitors will be requested to make a donation for various activities laid on by the cathedral. Children must be supervised by parents or guardians. It is suggested that parents or guardians bring along picnic food.
