undefinedThe Mothers' Union in Chester diocese celebrated the start of a new triennium on Saturday 16 January, with a commissioning service in Chester Cathedral for the new Diocesan President, Vivien Ley, the trustees and officers. The Rt Revd Keith Sinclair, Bishop of Birkenhead officiated.

Vivien succeeds Angela Klabou and the MU extends grateful thanks to Angela for her hard work over the past six years.

MU is a worldwide Christian charity with more than four million members in 83 countries, all sharing a Christian commitment to promote and support stable family life.

Within our diocese there are almost one hundred branches in parishes throughout the 18 deaneries. Members work together on projects in their churches and communities as well as raising funds to support Mothers’ Union projects worldwide.

2016 is an exciting time for MU as it icelebraters its 140th anniversary year, theme A Celebration of Faith. There will be lots happening throughout the diocese to mark this, so please contact the MU (details below) to get involved.

The MU Diocesan Festival will take place on Tuesday 3 May, at 2pm in St George’s Church, Stockport. The Rt Revd Libby Lane will officiate.  All are welcome to attend. Please contact us for further details.
