undefinedSt Oswald's C of E primary school in Mollington near Chester has been rated top of the league nationally in the SATS results. The school's Key Stage 2 results (official tests and assessments of pupils' abilities before they go on to high schools) are the highest in the land.

Staff and children at the school celebrated the achievement when the announcement was made by the Government’s Department for Education (D f E) early in December.

The school’s consistently high standards of recent years are greatly appreciated by parents and guardians locally.

And head teacher Pip Rowe found the recent results particularly satisfying – as she is due to retire from teaching next Easter.

Chester’s Diocesan Director of Education Jeff Turnbull said: “These outstanding results reflect the very hard work put in by staff and pupils at the school, and the strong support of parents and guardians.

“I offer my warmest congratulations to the school, which not only offers very high academic standards but also provides a wonderful Christian environment.”
