All Saints Centre for Mission and Ministry – the training scheme for Ordinands and Readers across six different dioceses, including ours – has received a highly positive report from its first Ministry Division inspection from the national Church.

The report says the course is "innovative, both in terms of its content and approach", and highlights the course's strengths in "passionate and enthusiastic teaching".

The inspectors witnessed “excellent teaching in the week-night sessions, the study days and the residential weekends”.  The report speaks of the course’s balance between academic, formational and practical aspects of training that brings together input from core course staff and "highly practical and relevant input from experienced clergy".

Director of Ministry for the Diocese of Chester, the Revd Canon Dr Christopher Burkett (pictured above) said: “All Saints lives up to its ministry and mission name. It has widened learning opportunities for our candidates while remaining close to local church life. It’s great that the efforts of so many have been readily recognised and commended.”

The report makes a small number of recommendations for strengthening the course’s work in training and formation – and emphasises that “students are very positive, articulating a strong sense of calling with a relationship of mutual respect and trust with staff”.
