Melanesian visit Chester 2013

undefinedA quiet time for refreshment and peace alongside our Brothers and Sisters from the Solomon Islands has been planned for next year, as part of the 'Simply Living' Melanesian mission visit to the UK. Between 1 and 4 May 2013 our diocese will host the 16-strong group at Foxhill, our retreat and conference centre in Frodsham.

People are invited to join the Melanesians there for a full day or for 48 hours, staying overnight with all meals provided.

There will be a regular pattern of prayers throughout the day; plus quiet time, bible reflection and themed discussions.

The cost will be £15 for a day or £50 for 48 hrs. To register your interest please phone John Freeman on 01606 852872 or email

Please note that spaces will be limited.

The upcoming retreat is part of a three-week visit by Melanesians to our diocese, during which time they will also be at Chester Cathedral and the diocesan youth event, Blesstival, at Quinta in Shropshire.

There will be plenty of opportunities for local people to be alongside the Melanesians for fellowship, prayer and worship. Brothers, Sisters and Franciscans will be in our diocese from April 22 to May 13.

More details of the visit – including themes for the retreat at Foxhill – will appear here in due course and in future issues of CDN.
