Lay Conference update 16 April 2014

undefinedThe DIOCESAN LAY CONFERENCE to be held in Swanwick, Derbyshire in May will feature expert talks, workshops and lots of opportunities for fellowship, worship and spiritual reflection. It all takes place in a lovely setting. There will also be entertainment from a comedy magician!

The cost of attending the lay conference – which includes all accommodation and meals – is £145 for the two-night stay on Friday and Saturday, 16 and 17 of May.

Alan Dowen, chair of the organising committee, said: “A superb 2014 conference has been organised, with top speakers including Martin Cavender and Alison Morgan from the Christian mission renewal organisation ReSource.

“Our award-winning comedy magician, Mark Shortland, has been known to do some spectacular feats. I’ve even heard he can make a bishop disappear!

“The food and fellowship available at the conference always impresses. We are all looking forward very much to Swanwick this year as always.”

Booking forms are available on the events page of the diocesan website. Just look at the dates – 16 to 18 May. You will also find details of the workshops there.

PLEASE NOTE: the booking deadline for the lay conference has been extended to Thursday 1 May.
