Heswall Parish hosts Climate Change Evening

undefinedThe Church of the Good Shepherd in Heswall is holding An Audience with the Bishop of Melanesia as part of a special Environment Day on October 3rd at 7.30pm.

Bishop Willie will be recalling his recent visit and filming in Melanesia. The event will feature short films showing the impact of climate, along with personal reflection, discussion and prayer.

The event is part of Wirral Arts Festival Environment Day. Please come along and consider your own contribution to living sustainably, pray for communities in Melanesia living with climate change, and find out more about how to responding locally and individually.

In Melanesia the Anglican Church is aiding those villages and settlements which will have to relocate due to climate change. Workshops across the islands are helping communities to plan their move, while helping them to preserve their distinctive culture. Climate change is not a ‘future event’, but effecting parts of the world now.

The event is free and there will be refreshments.
